Ponting rushes back to Australia for birth of second child

Australian batsman Ricky Ponting will miss the second Test against Sri Lanka in Kandy this week, as he has returned to his Sydney home for the birth of his second child.
Ponting left Galle directly after Australia secured a 125-run win in the first Test on Saturday.
The 36-year-old said that his wife, Rianna, is expecting in the next few days.
"Things have been happening pretty quickly all this week. Rianna had another scan on Tuesday and the doc believes it's going to be in the next few days," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Ponting, as saying.
"I'm pretty sure the little one will come a couple of days after I get back hopefully. As the tour has worn on one thing I didn't want to do if at all possible was to miss the birth. Rianna has obviously started to struggle a bit more the last few days. She just needs me at home at the moment," he added.
Ponting further hopes to be back for the final match of the series in Colombo, which starts on September 16.
"If the baby does come in the next couple of days, I'll stay around for a few days and hopefully be able to get them out of hospital, and be back in time to prepare and play the third Test match," he said.
